Spring has Sprung at Wildheart’s Web 2.0

So I was reading something from Small Business Trends when I realized that I never officially rolled out the red carpet for my new site here at Wildheart’s Web 2.0. In light of that I am going to remedy that issue the rest of this month. April symbolizes the reigning in of all that is new and fresh and beautiful. When I launched Wildheart’s Web 2.0 it was during the midst of the worst, yuckiest coldest winter we have experienced in Kansas in a very long time. I think I just wanted to get something up because well quite frankly I missed blogging. More so I missed blogging on Word Press. While I gave my new look a lot of thought I didn’t give much else a lot of thought save putting up quality content and merging my .net with this domain. So my launch kind of got put on the back burner.

During Live Your Truth chat one thing that resonated with me seeing where we were and we are now. I know that I have come a long ways since my early days blogging and even the internet. On the flip side of that though is I freely admit that I am still working on my self confidence and my business. When I went to the Heartland Visioning meeting it didn’t hit me until it was about to start that Duh! I am a blogger and not only that but a local blogger who now has a chance to put everything I had been learning to good use. It was then that it really hit me that I had to make a commitment to finally start working my blog like a business especially if I wanted to be taken as serious locally as I have become internationally. Again honestly after four years out in the world yes I had made several contacts all over the globe including Australia, the UK and Canada, but when I started talking to people here in Topeka they were like “Um, Who are you and what do you do as they had never heard of me or anything that I have done.”  So now I have a lot of work ahead of me to build my presence locally.

Case in point, here is an example using folks I have met along the way here in Topeka recently. Alissa and Brandon Sheley are a younger couple who are internet professionals that I didn’t know existed until just a few months ago. Jared Starkey I found out runs a successful PC repair business downtown – PC 911, at an affordable price. Matt Gassen is a young professional who does marketing and PR consulting and is active in several areas of the community. Jon Ary is a wicked talented young man who has an extraordinary gift with visual arts. Brendan Jenson has a level of intelligence in his job that is way beyond me. There are other equally talented people I have met along the way because I finally chose to put myself out there in the community.

This month I hope to share with you more insights into where I have been vs where I am now. This will also be the month when I do some “official” red carpet things. In short April will be all about me tooting my own horn.
