About Joe Cheray

Writing an about page always seems intimidating to me so I sat down and opened my notebook filled with all the notes I have taken from the greats such as Yaro Starak, Ed Dale, Sam Clark, and Darren Rowse to name a few and so here is the best idea of myself that I can give you.

I write what I love to talk about. I have written about Paint Shop Pro specifically JASC version 9 before Corel bought the company. I have written about writing, as well as internet how to’s. With writing about these topics eventually they all became intertwined. I learned that you had to write a post well in order to teach people how to effectively use Paint Shop Pro. I learned that you had to have a basic competency of the internet and how to use it in order to find the digital design elements needed to have a major arsenal of tools in your Paint Shop Pro Program. I learned how to use search engines to find what I wanted and to get answers to my questions when there was no one to answer them. Oh and I for sure learned a ton about blogging over the last 3 to 4 yrs.

I learned how to participate in and set up forums and even how to create backgrounds for my twitter profile. In short learning digital design taught me more than I could have ever dreamed it would. Now I am ready to share all of that knowledge with others who are or were in a similar position so that they aren’t out there floundering trying to find the answers and getting nowhere.

I dug out my business goals which I had 6 of them listed and I have accomplished two and those are buying a domain and getting Wildheart’s Web 2.0 going, as well as the continued circulation of a survey I am having folks I meet along the way fill out so I can better figure out what content to offer and in what media to offer it in. The others, generating income, finishing a flier for local PC tutoring, attending one local and one national networking event, going back to school are still works in progress.

Other than taking one computer competency and internet user skills class and an intro to micro computers in phys ed I am pretty much self taught. The only other training I have under my belt at this point is I am a 3 year veteran of The 30 Day Challenge and a graduate of Yaro Starak’s Blog Mastermind Course. I also completed the 16 Steps to Success with Sam Clark and Jack Humphry. No I don’t throw these names in to dazzle you with who I know and don’t know in the internet world, I throw these names in because I have discovered a whole new world that I never even knew existed thanks to these men. I have met folks that have seen the path I am taking and have helped pave the way for me when and where they can.

I have done all of this while making a go of it being a single parent to a child with cerebral palsy. My son who is now 11 was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at birth due to cardiac arrest and lung failure. I knew I was in for a long road with him from day one and have never looked back since traversing that road all those years ago. I am proud to be a single mom who has pulled herself up from bad times and learned a skill set that will keep me going for years to come or as long as the internet in whatever form it takes is still around. As the face of the internet changes you bet this gen x’er will be there trying to learn whatever new technology that happens to come my way.

My about page is not set in stone and it will change as I change so please check back once in awhile to find out more about me.
