Beauchamp’s Art Gallery Wants Local Artists to Think Big!
Beauchamp’s Gallery is currently accepting artists entries for its upcoming gallery show Think Big, Topeka which will run from Friday August 5th, 2010 through Wednesday September 22nd, 2010. .
The Think Big Topeka show is a collaboration between Think BigTopeka and Beauchamp’s Gallery. The primary purpose of the exhibit is to showcase Topeka as a vibrant, dynamic forward thinking community. Says Beauchamp’s Gallery owner Bob Swain, “We want artworks that celebrate the beauty, vision, and vitality of our city – both as it is now and, even more importantly, as it could be.” Jared Starkey adds, “Think Big Topeka wants to encourage people to have conversations about the future of Topeka. We’re happy to see businesses doing their part to encourage forward-thinking as well.”
Submissions will be accepted from any artist, amateur or professional, living and working in Shawnee County, Kansas. Artists may submit up to two (2) artworks for consideration until July, 13th, 2010. All artworks, both 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional must be completed in 2010 and ready to display in a professional gallery setting. A 5 person jury will determine which entries are accepted for the show. All accepted artwork must be offered for sale. Beauchamp’s is Topeka’s premier provider of original fine art, classic custom framing, art restoration/repair, and consulting. Located at 3113 SW Huntoon in the Westboro Mart, Beauchamp’s has been a mainstay of the Topeka arts community for nearly 40 years.
ThinkBigTopeka.Com is a decentralized group of citizens who actively work to improve Topeka and encourage people to consider how they can impact Topeka’s future. This is done through focusing on Community Involvement, Pride in Topeka, and Public Education about Topeka.
